In recent years, Disney has been cranking out new Star Wars content in the medium of shows, comics, and movies. In recent days, there have been large title drops and rumors of more shows to come that have fans on the edges of their seats. In the age of quarantine and the release of Disney+, people are getting more Star Wars content. The series has a large part of the public watching and reading its content, buying merchandise, sometimes confirmed, people are excited for the show of their favorite character.

Even people who just casually watch the movies, or have heard of them, are excited for the coming shows as well. “I’m not a die-hard Star Wars fan and have only seen the movies but I am looking forward to the shows,” said Mitchell Armstrong, a senior at Capital High School.

There are several shows that Disney has announced or are rumored to be coming. These Star Wars shows being; Kenobi, Ahsoka, The Book of Boba Fett, Andor, Rangers of the New Republic, The Acolyte, Rogue Squadron, Lando, Visions, and A Droid Story. Most of these shows are seldom talked about and are outshone by others. But what shows are getting the spotlight?

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a fan favorite Star Wars character. Even if you have never watched the movies, you would’ve heard the name once or twice before. Now, Kenobi is getting his own show and people are hyped to see Ewan McGregor back as the character. Samantha Prigg, a senior at Capital High School said, “I’m looking forward to Kenobi because it has Ewan McGregor.” She isn’t the only one who is excited for the actor to return to Star Wars. Hayden Lockwood, a junior from Bonney Lake High School, said the same. “Obi-Wan for sure! There’s this big ol’ gap and I have to know what happened. I’m pretty sure Ewan McGregor said he’s coming back for the show so- as well as Hayden Christenson reprising his role as Vader.”

Obi-Wan isn’t the only fan favorite to have people looking forward to his show. Ahsoka Tano, a character appearing in the Clone Wars show, is getting her own show that others are looking forward to as well. “Looking forward to Ahsoka because I love the character,” continued Samantha Prigg. Ahsoka’s show was teased in the second season of The Mandalorian. Though her’s wasn’t the only one when after the season finale, The Mandalorian gave us a confirmed show; The Book of Boba Fett. Like the two before him, Boba Fett is well known throughout the Star Wars fanbase. He has been a known character since the original movie was released in 1977. “Looking forward to Boba Fett,” said Mitchell Armstrong, “He’s a really cool character.”

Star Wars is a pop culture phenomenon and with so many shows coming out, it’s going to be apparent which character or plot the fans are going to like more. Though judging by what people say, Kenobi, Ahsoka, and The Book of Boba Fett are going to be highly praised by the fanbase.
