November is considered the “pre-Christmas” season. Everyone starts setting up their decorations, putting up their Christmas trees, or they start purchasing the presents. But when is it too early to start setting everything up for Christmas?

If you’re driving around a few neighborhoods, you’ll probably notice people already wrapping their houses in Christmas lights or other various decorations, even in the early days of November. Many people don’t even bother decorating for Thanksgiving. All of those flashy lights put up for both November and December definitely gets rather annoying.

Veteran’s day is also in the month of November and rarely anyone seems to get excited over that, even though it’s very important. We need to celebrate all Veterans and show how much we respect them.

Christmas is an exciting part of the year. You get presents and all that’s in the air seems to be cheer and happiness. But that should be happening in December rather than both of the months. November isn’t the month to start decorating for it.

Even in places like Target or Walmart, Christmas trees are getting set up, or they’re selling the fake, plastic Santas that you can put in your yard. They barely even bother to recognize the fact that Thanksgiving is an actual holiday. Some of the stores are even selling stuff before Halloween has passed.

Target and Walmart are just desperate to make some money. All those stores really care about is making a buck, and putting up the decorations for that amount of time is earning them more money rather than just setting them up in December, where they should actually belong. They have little sections for Veteran’s Day or Thanksgiving when that should be our main focus.

Although Christmas even is one of my own favored holidays, seeing the decorations already set up or Christmas music playing in stores is just plain irritating. It’s not even winter yet, so what’s the point of setting up for it then?

Many say that it’s never too early for Christmas, but there are definitely times when it is way too early. Christmas is a holiday that many love, but that doesn’t mean that you should start setting up for it so early. Not only do the flashy lights get exasperating, but having to deal with the Christmas trees set up in the midst of stores when you’re attempting to buy things for Thanksgiving is difficult to deal with.
