There’s a new TMNT movie slated for release this year! With this new movie, it’s bringing in another potential new era of teenage mutant ninja turtles, whether that’s disappointing for some people hoping that the previous show, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, would see a renewal after the well-received movie back in 2022, nonetheless there’s a new movie coming out with a completely different style in terms of both animation and voice acting. Whether or not that’s a good thing depends on who you ask but let’s get a closer look at the movie, its plot, and its production.

Mutant Mayhem is going to be Nickelodeon’s first fully animated theatrical release and is slated to do so on August 4th of this year. Of course, this movie experienced the Spider-verse effect and looks amazing, the amount of attention to detail in the trailers alone is amazing to look at. The style of the film is the animation studio’s first attempt at something like this and was stated to be one of a kind. As for the film’s development, there hasn’t been a lot of information released quite yet but I can’t wait to see what it was. Seth Rogen acts as the producer for the film and stated that the movie is going to focus on the teenage element of the ninja turtles and build on that more. The casting for the movie fits this statement as well given both the age and voice range of the cast, helping them feel more like teenagers.

As for news regarding the animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there hasn’t been much aside from a possible art book to be released. So the hope of a renewal has very much dwindled but with this new movie bringing a new era then we ninja turtle fans have something to look forward to.
