Reputation
December 8, 2017
Taylor swift’s 6th studio album, “Reputation”, came out on November 10th. I bought it the next day around noon. Since then, I have listened to it countless number of times. Each song has its own personality and story behind it. Together they make a beautiful story. The songs on the album are “…Ready for It?, End Game (Ft. Ed Sheeran & Future), I Did Something Bad, Don’t Blame Me, Delicate, Look What You Made Me Do, So It Goes…, Gorgeous, Getaway Car, King of My Heart, Dancing With Our Hands Tied, Dress, This Is Why We Can’t Have Nice Things, Call It What You Want, New Year’s Day’”
My personal favorite song is “New Year’s Day” it’s slower than her other songs. It’s not a party song, it’s more of a thought provoking song. It’s a beautiful song. The whole album is amazing and I recommend it to everyone looking for a change in music. This is not your country Taylor, this is not her pop phase. Greg Kot, writing for Chicago Tribune described the album as, “Another shift, this time into electronic pop.”
As I was talking to a friend this weekend about the album and she compared it to high school. Freshman year is like her country phase. Sophomore year she’s country pop. Junior year she’s pop. Senior year she’s finally found where she feels comfortable and it’s the album Reputation. Now we will sit and enjoy this album till she releases another album. Will she change again or will she stick with the electronic pop?
