The Real Meaning: How you Should Live your Life

Kiana Orta, Reporter

Life, what is it supposed to be like for you? Who determines how life should be and what should be happening, to you? A big part in this certain belief of living has to do with social media. People look up to celebrities and the people seen on TV and begin to believe that this is how life is supposed to be, but it’s
severely unrealistic. The whole point of life, remember, is to find what makes us, as people, happy.

Life is meant to allow us to truly look within ourselves to find what is enjoyable and move forward within that path. That path is going to look different for each person, and it should. We don’t need another copy of someone, we need everyone being the best version of themselves. We should be living our lives doing what will make us truly happy. We can only pretend to be happy doing what other people expect from us for
so long. There is no right or wrong way to do life, within reason. I’m not talking about committing crimes, of course, but your interests, your passions and your quirks are what make you unique. And this world
needs everyone as is. Everybody has a different path, and it is arrogant of us to think that everybody is going to fit into a perfect “cookie cutter” way of life. A type of life that doesn’t exist, remember. People do not always fit into the stereotypes set for them, and they should resist the pressures from others. They
don’t know you. Nobody except yourself is allowed to tell you how to live your life. Always listen to others who care about you, have lived a type of life you esteem to follow, but you know what they say: if it doesn’t apply, let it fly.
Take advice from those around you but focus on yourself. You have full control over everything in your life, despite what you feel around you. Parents, family, school, society and friends all feel free access to tell
you how to live life, and to an extent it can be a sign of love that they care. But always remember that they have an ax to grind. They have a bias about how they feel about life, you, and what they want from you.
Nobody except yourself is allowed to tell you how to live your life. Of course that’s only as long as you are moving forward.
